A replica of Coopers Mill, the Glade Creek Grist Mill represents the many mills that populated West Virginia. The location is an easy country drive twenty mnutes north and east of the New River Gorge Bridge. On my research for fall color in Appalachia, this location was circled early in the planning; While most shots of the mill are taken on the north side of Glade Creek along an access road, I worked the south side. This image was low to the water behind some large boulders using a 50 Megapixel camera; Tilt-Shift 24mm lens to maintain focus front-to-back; and a neutral density filter to extend the water flow.
